Five Massachusetts-based institutions received $21.3 million through ARPA-H’s Sprint for Women’s Health. More than 1700 submissions were received from 30-plus countries for this program administered by ARPA-H Investor Catalyst Hub.
In total, 23 awards receiving $110 million were announced by First Lady of the United States Dr. Jill Biden at HLTH 2024. Massachusetts awardee include The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Inc., Massachusetts General Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Tufts University, and the Wyss Institute.
The MLSC launched its Women’s Health Initiative in 2020 to support efforts which increase understanding of sex and gender differences in biology (that has translational potential) or developing solutions for diseases or conditions that affect women solely, disproportionately, or differently.
