Pathmaker Profile: Andrew Bellingham

Andrew Bellingham came to Middlesex Community College (MCC) seeking a career change. Specifically, he was aiming to gain occupational skills training after more than 13 years of experience working in the travel industry in a customer service role. He enrolled in the Pathmaker Advanced Manufacturing with Robotics & Automation Program at MCC with the goal of reentering the workforce in an exciting new industry.

The objective of the MCC program is to train participants to become Manufacturing Associates and Maintenance Technicians. MCC’s employer partner is Acton, Massachusetts-based medical device manufacturer Insulet Corporation.

Andrew completed the program in November 2024. He was interviewed by Insulet during the final week of the program. He was offered a full-time position and started this past January. Andrew works the third shift as a full-time Associate Manufacturing Technician, utilizing the skills he gained during the training.

This program is funded by a one-year grant of $292,445 to MCC to support the training of 30 individuals through the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center’s (MLSC) Pathmaker program. MCC currently has 13 students enrolled in the second cohort of training, and a third session will be offered starting in April. Applications are currently open for the Spring cohort.

The MLSC’s Pathmaker program funds industry-aligned training programs that address critical skills and talent supply gaps and connects skilled, diverse workers with life science career opportunities in Massachusetts. The program is currently accepting applications. Click here to learn more.
