WPI receives $877K to support cell engineering program

Coverage from Worcester Business Journal:

Worcester Polytechnic Institute has received an $877,314 grant from a capital funding initiative led by the Gov. Charlie Baker Administration and the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, according to a Thursday announcement.

Funded through MLSC’s Open Capital program, the grant program provides funding for state-of-the-art equipment and infrastructure to support the life sciences ecosystem in Massachusetts, according to the announcement.

WPI was one of 11 projects to receive a grant through Open Capital in its most recent funding round. The money will go toward purchasing equipment to create a modular core facility focused on high throughput cell analytics, supporting WPI’s Cell Engineering Research Equipment Suite.
