Dean College recently unveiled many new upgrades to its Arthur W. Peirce Center for Technology and Science facilities. These new upgrades include a variety of advanced scientific equipment and modernized labs which come from grants from the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) and the George I. Alden Trust. According to Dean, students have already begun using the new equipment and facilities, and the College soon expects to be able to offer organic chemistry for pre-med and pre-health requirements to better prepare those pursuing medical school and other life science careers that require a chemistry background.
Dean College’s grant comes from the MLSC’s Workforce Development Capital Grant Program, which seeks to further the development and expansion of life sciences education and training programs offered by post-secondary academic institutions and non-profit organizations through capital investment in industry-aligned certificate and degree programs.
