The State Science and Technology Institute (SSTI) on September 16, 2013, announced that the MSLC received its national “Excellence in Technology-Based Economic Development” (TBED) award for accomplishments in the category, “Improving Competitiveness of Existing Industries.” The MLSC won the award based on a national competition to identify initiatives that represent best practices in innovation-driven economic development. The MLSC’s President & CEO, Susan Windham-Bannister, Ph.D., accepted the award on behalf of the MLSC and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at SSTI’s annual meeting in Portland, Ore.
