In this session, participants will consider factors revealing a changing paradigm of higher education that involves employer-recognized competencies (knowledge, skills, and abilities); stacking and laddering credentials to create onramps to further education and upskilling; and creating pathways to careers while advancing learners’ social and economic mobility. The work of HLC’s Credential Lab will also be featured in helping institutions transition toward this “Both / And” future of degrees with skills that serve talent needs.
