A visit to UMass Chan Medical provided an inspirational morning recognizing the unlimited potential of scientific breakthroughs and the power of collaboration to drive health innovation. It was a privilege to have MLSC President and CEO Kirk Taylor, MD join congressional leaders, leadership from the University of Massachusetts, and the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H)’s Inaugural Director Renee Wegrzyn for a discussion and tour spotlighting the UMass research system.
The visit also served as an opportunity to celebrate UMass Chan Nobel Laureate Victor R. Ambros, PhD, and his wife, Rosalind “Candy” Lee. Their Nobel Prize winning work continues at the medical school’s Albert Sherman Center, which was previously funded by the MLSC with $90 million in capital funding.
