MLSC President and CEO Kirk Taylor, MD joined Massachusetts Executive Office of Economic Development (EOED) Secretary Yvonne Hao for a visit to Cellino. The growing company is a stellar example of the “magic” of Massachusetts, from finding success at The Engine Accelerator and leveraging the Investor Catalyst Hub to secure up to $25 million in research funding from the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) to develop a more affordable and accessible method to manufacture personalized cell therapies.
Cellino has also benefited from MLSC programming including its internship programming. During the visit, President Taylor and Secretary Hao met Catherine Pilsmaker, Lead Bioprocess Engineer at Cellino. Catherine is a Massachusetts native who interned at Cellino before joining in a full-time role while earning her master’s at Boston University. Her internship was funded through the MLSC.
