Forum: To Lead is to Compete: Massachusetts Competitiveness and the Gubernatorial Transition

Massachusetts is a high cost state, but also ranks favorably in a number of measures, including best educated population, healthiest state, lowest property crime rate, best life sciences cluster, and best in science and technology. How does Massachusetts compete for employers, especially in the industries that define this economic era?

As we transition to a new administration in 2023, what are keys to maintaining Massachusetts competitive advantages and what are the most important improvements we can make in the years ahead to ensure continued economic growth in Massachusetts? Featuring a Fireside Chat with former Governor Jane M. Swift and former Lt. Governor Timothy Murray. The event will be moderated by Lauren Liss, Senior Counsel at Greenberg Traurig. A networking reception will follow the fireside chat. MassEcon Executive Director Peter Abair and Brandon Pyers, Senior Manager, National Credits & Incentives, Deloitte Tax LLP, will present perspectives on Massachusetts competitiveness. Elaine Shannon, Site Head MA Biologics Operations at Takeda will deliver Welcome Remarks.

The event will be held at Takeda – Fortis Hall: 200 Shire Way, Lexington, MA 02421
