MassBioEd’s Life Sciences Workforce Conference provides insights into the major trends affecting the industry in Massachusetts. This year, as the world adapts to conducting business remotely, topics will focus on the hiring effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and implications for industry operations. Attendees from academia and industry will convene remotely with expert panelists to address critical issues such as how the pandemic is affecting business, how to focus on recovery, including handling disrupted class schedules and the abrupt shutdown of graduate research projects, and how to build a flexible workforce. Breakout sessions will offer opportunities for networking and more in-depth discussion to share best practices. Influential leaders from universities, colleges, and industry will come together to work on building solutions to expand the workforce and create innovative pathways for candidates to develop skills and be better prepared for careers in the industry.
